One-time vs. Recurring

You should treat one-time tasks differently from recurring tasks. One-time tasks can be prioritized. You can “make the problem go away.” Sometimes you should do the task first that is bothering you the most – your body/mind knows what the priority should be, and eliminating that task will put you at ease and reduce stress levels.

Recurring tasks, on the other hand, must be done again and again. That means there’s the opportunity to create efficiencies. You can outsource or delegate some of the tasks, like paying someone to mow  your lawn. You can set up systems that essentially put the tasks on auto-pilot, like auto-pay on your monthly bills, or creating a habit so you just do something without even thinking about it. You can schedule the tasks – since they happen again and again, this is where you can predict the future. You do sort of have a crystal ball.
