Are you able to watch TV and wrote at the same time? I can. In fact, I get some of my best writing done while half paying attention to the TV and half writing. It’s not a good time for editing for me, but getting the initial ideas on paper or recorded in my notes app along with some wording that can later be edited is not a difficult task while I’m doing something else like driving, shopping, or watching TV.
You can’t edit what you don’t have on paper so my suggestion is to capture all ideas no matter how bad or how crazy they seem yes they may need some work but if you get them written down then you can get them organized you can edit them if they are useful and you can always eliminate them if they’re not that’s really the idea behind brainstorming you don’t edit you don’t analyze you don’t judge as you go instead you capture all ideas and then you go back and pick the best ones in the next step the reason to capture even the crazy ideas that you know won’t work is because sometimes one idea leads to another idea
Brainstorming: Sometimes one not so great idea leads to another much better useful idea that you’ll end up running with.
