Two-Minute Drill

Once you’ve put a to-do list together and added time estimates to it, you should have a good idea of what can be completed quickly and what will take a little—or a lot—more time. This can be helpful because it will allow you to take advantage of small windows of time. If you’ve got five minutes here or two minutes there, that time will be lost unless you have a plan about how to use it.

In football, a lot of points are scored in the last two minutes of each half. That’s because teams practice, again and again, a series of plays that will allow them to score quickly as time is running out. Given how many one-score games there are, the ability to call plays quickly and move down the field can be the difference between winning and losing. What if you applied that same mentality to your day-to-day life?
