It’s hard to organize everything. But it’s not hard to organize one thing. So pick one thing, do it, and then keep it organized. Maybe grab a drawer, bring it in the living room, and do it while you’re watching TV. My wife’s Grandma always did something while watching TV – sewing buttons on shirts, etc. It’s called multitasking.
People will tell you that you shouldn’t multitask because it reduces your effectiveness, and switching from one to another can be cognitively challenging. When doing deep work or tackling something that requires concentration, that’s true. But juggling a couple easy tasks at once, especially when one on its own might be a waste of time, like watching TV, is a great way to relax while getting something done.
