Keep your foot on the gas. If you are able to scrape together the extra money for a vacation or to pay off debt, don’t slow down when you’ve accomplished that short-term goal. Keep it up until you are financially free. Once you are, you will have more control over your schedule – and your life.
That book it says that we do just enough to catch up that’s the same stuff we need to do to get ahead.
In the same way that we rush to clean the house when we have company, we try to get caught up on everything before going on vacation. Not only is the vacation relaxing, but being caught up is a huge weight off our shoulders – that helps us to relax while we’re out of town. But why does it take an upcoming absence to get caught up? Why can’t we make these sorts of pushes without a deadline? And, once we’ve figured out how to make these sorts of pushes, why can’t we keep it up so that we can stay caught up?
